Neil Young’s Spotify page only shows his features, singles, and extended plays (EPs). All Neil Young’s singles and albums have been removed. As Reuters has reported, only “movie soundtracks or other events that featured Young but released by other entities” exist on Spotify. However, it is misleading to say that Neil Young’s music is back on Spotify. Some posts feature images of a Spotify playlist with Neil Young’s songs some users have mocked the singer for not “keeping his word.” Now some weeks later, social media posts have been claiming Young’s music is “back” on Spotify. “Spotify has recently become a very damaging force via its public misinformation and lies about COVID,” he explained, adding that the result was life-threatening to the music-loving public and that lies were being sold for money. He said this was because of the COVID-19 misinformation on the platform. On January 26, singer Neil Young announced that he wanted his songs taken down from Spotify. All Neil Young’s albums and singles have been removed.
Some of Neil Young’s songs are available on Spotify because they are from movie soundtracks.
