Getting the "A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server." after initial log in on the server setup page. Created a brand-new install from scratch. I've reached back out to Netgear about the firmware update issue but haven't heard anything from them and I was just hoping someone might have some ideas or advice on how I can finally get this up and running. Without being able to update the firmware, I'm stuck with the router not recognizing any USB drive that I plug in which won't allow me to open Plex. I went through this twice before it completely corrupted all of the files on the USB drive without the ability to recover them.Īfter this, I reached out to Netgear again and they recommended that I update the firmware on the router to a new beta version that they provided but I haven't been able to get the new firmware uploaded past the spinning wheel screen and I've let it try for two hours on a couple of occasions before the connection resets.
I started setting up the Media Server in the Plex Media Server interface but creating a new library (1200 media files) seemed to never make it past 20% of the files being added before it would time out and tell me that my library was corrupted and needed to be rebuilt. So after 11 factory resets, the Open Plex button finally turned purple and recognized the USB drive.
I contacted Netgear and they recommended that I keep resetting the server to factory settings until it resolved.
